Crafted from a rare, final length of Harrisons Moonbeam cloth, now discontinued, this mid-blue windowpane sports coat is a true modern classic. Our Head Cutter, Mr Tom Mahon, has long been particularly fond of the Moonbeam range, and Redmayne was fortunate enough to secure the last remaining piece of this remarkable cloth.
The rich mid-blue ground is overlaid with a subtle dark blue check, giving the cloth depth and character without ever clamouring for attention. It is a wonderfully versatile shade: elegant enough to wear with a shirt and tie, yet equally at home with flannels, corduroys or denim. Distinctly British in character, but understated enough to become one of those coats that is reached for time and again.
Cut in our signature house style, the coat features a 3-roll-2 front, gently slanted pockets, side vents and a working lapel hole with flower loop detail. As you would expect from Redmayne, it is fully canvassed with a lightweight structure, designed to mould naturally to the wearer over time. The result is a soft drape and clean silhouette, equally suited to an informal meeting, a country weekend or dinner in town.
This is not a cloth we can reorder. Once the small number of coats available from this final length have been commissioned, there will be no more.
