The Kings Award for enterprise

Redmayne 1860 honoured with The King’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade

In 2026, Redmayne 1860 was proud to be recognised with The King’s Award for Enterprise, the United Kingdom’s highest official accolade for business.

This award reflects not only our continued growth in international markets, but our commitment to quality, upholding the traditions of British bespoke tailoring whilst serving a global clientele.

About The Award

The King’s Awards for Enterprise are granted to a select number of businesses across the United Kingdom, recognising outstanding achievement in areas including international trade, innovation, sustainable development, and social mobility.

Awarded following a rigorous and independently assessed process, this recognition reflects excellence not only in the quality of our tailoring, but also in commercial performance, standards of conduct, training, and long-term sustainability.

Why Redmayne 1860 Was Selected

Redmayne 1860 received the award for International Trade, reflecting sustained export growth and the successful expansion of British tailoring into overseas markets.

From our workshops in Cumbria and London, we serve clients across the United States and beyond, supported by regular international visits and an established remote service.

Our approach remains unchanged: garments are created with years of knowledge and care, built upon the enduring principles of British tailoring, whether bespoke, made to measure, or from our ready to wear collection.

Heritage & Modern Reach

Established in 1860, Redmayne 1860 combines over a century of tailoring heritage with a modern, outward-looking approach.

Under the direction of Claire Mahon and Head Cutter Tom Mahon, the business has grown its international presence significantly, particularly within the United States, whilst continuing to invest in training and the future of the craft.

Through in person appointments with our Cutters, clients worldwide are able to experience a level of care and attention synonymous with traditional British tailoring.

This recognition belongs to our entire team, young and old, and to our next generation of craftsmen and women who are carrying our Redmayne's legacy forward.

Above all, our sincere thanks go to our clients around the world, whose loyalty, support, and appreciation of our commitment to excellence make our work possible.

Commitment to Craftsmanship

At the heart of the business remains a simple principle: quality without compromise.

Each garment is created with careful attention to detail, using predominantly British-milled cloths, and made with a focus on comfort, fit, and refinement. Across bespoke, made to measure, and ready to wear, this commitment underpins everything we do.

While this award marks an important milestone, it also reinforces our responsibility to continue developing the craft, supporting our team, and serving our clients to the highest possible standard.
