The 1860

Designed by Tom Mahon, Head Cutter

how does it work?

Our 1860 commissions take between 10 to 12 weeks from initial consultation to delivery of your garment.

Initial Consultation

We’ll meet with you & discuss your preferences and needs, whether it's a special occasion or everyday wear. Local or halfway across the globe, we'll guide you through selecting the perfect fabric and style for your commission.

Dispatch/Collection

When your commission is complete, our team will be in touch to discuss if you’d like it to be sent to you or collected from either our Wigton workshop or London office, whichever is most convenient for you.

Follow up

But that's not the end. After a couple of weeks to let your commission "settle in” our team will reach out to you to make sure you are happy with your commission. All details are noted regarding any changes for future orders.

step into the world of Savile Row tailoring

To begin your journey into Savile Row tailoring, our "1860" service is the ideal choice. You'll experience our signature cut in our house style, crafted from a wide selection of our English woven cloths. Each commission features a traditional full body canvas, ensuring exceptional quality and incorporating bespoke design features. We'll personally discuss your needs and guide you through available choices. If you prefer cloth from London merchants, there will be an additional charge based on your selection.

How long does it take?

The 1860 service typically takes around ten to twelve weeks from initial consultation and confirmation of order to receipt of your new Redmayne commission.

Please note that cloths can occasionally be out of stock or otherwise delayed so if your commission is for a special event we advise allowing extra time.

Something in the make

Quality tailoring, without compromise.

Whether you commission bespoke or made to measure, the level of care we give is exactly the same. This stems from our head Cutter, Tom Mahon's enthusiasm that everyone should be able to have access to quality tailoring, without compromise. "It's hard to describe the experience at Redmayne, almost as hard as describing how you feel wearing one of their suits. Both experiences are paramount. Tom and Claire are welcoming, kind, funny and generous, both masters of their crafts. Tom cuts with majesty and explains the art of tailoring as well as anyone while Claire exudes a warmth and kindess that permeates the fabric of the clothes themselves. I couldn't recommend Redmayne more, whether it be for a 3 piece, an overcoat, a shirt or just a cup of tea"
