We have outlined some simple steps below which should hopefully answer the majority of your questions..
To start the process on your 'Redmayne Suit Copy’ please email the team at hello@redmayne1860.com with your ideas for your new suit - this can be stylings, colour or weight of cloth, or even requesting our seasonal suggestions.
The team will search through our house cloths and email back with our top selections matching your request and a link to our brief 'Suit Copying’ form. This form will ask you about your garment that will be used to take measures and request photos of you wearing it.
When you are happy to begin and have selected your chosen cloth. The team will email you an invoice for your new Redmayne garment and upon payment follow this up with a shipping label for your sample garment(s) to be sent to our workshop here in Cumbria.
When your garment has safely arrived at the workshop. A full set of measures are taken and notes are added to your personal profile. A video call is then arranged to finalise the details of your garment before the team set to work making your own Redmayne garments which will be ready in 10-12 weeks. When complete, both garments (sample and new) are sent back to you.
Now then...if you're new to the world of quality tailoring then this will need a little explaining. The "house style" quite literally means what it says. The style of the garments produced by a tailoring house. So this is something we want to make perfectly clear.
At Redmayne we have a softer and more natural construction of make, our "house style". The suit copying service is there for your convenience but the clothing we make for you will be nothing less than classic English Redmayne tailoring. Of course, so it should be as that's why you came to us in the first place. So for clarity, all our garments will have light shoulder construction, a super soft fully canvassed body. Our lapel widths are never skimpy along with our pocket flaps. If your sample is of a style that's nothing like our make then we'll advise you before we proceed. The aim of the suit copying service is to allow us to supply you a well fitting and beautifully made Redmayne garment and nothing less.
Your sample garment is used as an aid to make you a new Redmayne garment. If you are adamant that your sample garment is absolutely perfect in every way, then we'll take your word for it and copy it exactly as your sample. However, if you're not already a Redmayne client, your sample may be almost there but not quite. So using our process, this is how we'll get your new garment exactly as desired.
Unless otherwise clearly stated. All our house cloth's are made here in England or Scotland, that's what we prefer. We have a good selection of stock English cloths in our house collection that offer excellent value. Should you have something else in mind we recommend you browse the cloth selections on offer from one of the excellent British cloth merchants that we frequently work with - Harrisons of Edinburgh, Holland & Sherry, Dugdale Bros & Co, and Scabal.
Suit Copying Commissions starting from and including UK Sales VAT @ 20% and include English cloth, fully canvassed and traditional tailored collar and cuffs.
